Knowledge Bowl is a trivia based club.  If you are in middle school or high school, we welcome new members.  Whether you are a math guru, a literary expert, or a trivia junkie drop by and put your knowledge to the test!  High school practices are every Tuesday during lunch in the Great Room and occasionally on a Friday in Mrs. Krall’s room.

Once a month the team travels to Alamosa to compete in an all day meet against other high schools in our region. Knowledge Bowl meets are interdisciplinary academic competitions involving teams of four students trying to answer questions in a written round and several oral rounds.  No team is eliminated in this event, and every team participates in every round.

1) The written round is a multiple choice exam on which each team collaborates.  Results of this round are used for seeding teams in the oral rounds.  In the oral rounds, there are three teams per room.

2) A reader presents the questions, and a team member may buzz in as soon as he or she chooses.  If they miss a question, nothing is deducted, but the other teams then may try to answer the question based on who buzzed in first.

3) The winner is the team with the greatest number of points at the end of the meet.

Custer County has had both the middle school and high school teams qualify to participate in the State Knowledge Bowl Competition.  If you are interested in learning more about Knowledge Bowl contact Coach Laura Krall.
